I would never have imagined making marshmallows at home would be so easy. Water, glycerine, vanilla essence and sugar... three simple ingredients that through boiling and mixing became... marshmallows! The little ones loved seeing how the liquid mixture slowly raised and transformed into the marshmallow texture... and they loved even more scrapping the mixing bowl while the adults were "not looking". We all expert scientists agreed that we will need to repeat the experiment until we get the perfect marshmallowy texture. And the shapes... That's definitely a work-in-progress! Recipe: Soak 1 Tablespoon gelatine in 1 cup cold water for at least half hour. Add 1 cup sugar and heat until boiling, stirring the whole time. Simmer for 7 minutes. Cool a bit then beat the mixture until white and stands on its own...add a few drops of vanilla essence. Roll in coconut so it is not too sticky. Can add red food colour.
